Most of the courses offered by the Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) are post-graduate. Students can take various technical and professional examinations after completion of their graduation degrees. Around 170 Colleges and institutions affiliated to RTU give admission to the students on the basis of their merit obtained in entrance tests conducted by RTU. So students assured of good rank in entrance tests don’t need to apply for admission to a particular institute separately. Some institutions give admission on the basis of the marks obtained in graduation for their management quota seats. Most of the colleges and institutions offering undergraduate degrees such as BBA, BCA admit students on the basis of marks obtained in their senior secondary examinations. Government colleges and institutes for MBA, MCA and other professional courses tops the list of the institutes which are most sought after for admission by the students. On the other hand, the infrastructure and atmosphere of education in private institutions is battering when compared to that of a few years ago. The result of rapidly growing number of private institutions has been the strong competition among them for providing quality knowledge to the students. Most of the entrance tests conducted by the RTU are held in the months of May-June. As soon as the RTU announces results, institutions and colleges begin counseling of students for admission.
